The way we do things at Elite Design Group can be summed up in one sentence: “Listening is a greater gift than creativity.” J.J. reiterates this each day and it is this idea that distinguishes us from other design firms. Most designers and architects will meet clients and have a certain agenda or home design in their heads from the get-go. However, from your very first consultation with EDG, your needs and your wants take priority, and we will produce a design in real-time that reflects your ideas.
When you first call Elite design group to set up a meeting, you will hear from Wes. He will ask you general questions about your future dream home (Size, style, lot location, if you have a builder, and expectations on when you would like to build the home). Once you finish the call, Wes will follow up with our designer’s availability to meet in person and he will attach a pricing sheet, so that you know all of our fees up front with no surprises later on. We would like to initially meet on your lot, so our designer can get a good idea of any views or possibly challenges that the lot may have. This meeting is where our designer will talk to you more in depth about what you want in your home design. This will give him all the information needed to start the initial sketched design. After this meeting, we would send our a design agreement, so we can formally start working on your design. Once signed, our designer will work with you through multiple sketched iterations until you are completely satisfied with the design.
Once you are happy with the plans in the sketch phase, we will convert the design from sketches to CAD format. In this stage, we will provide floor plans, a site plan, all four elevations, and a roof plan. At this point, your builder can start pricing out the design and give you a good idea of what it will cost to build. There is no extra charge for making any changes in this stage.
Please make note that this step is optional and requires additional payment. For some clients reviewing their design on paper can be challenging, luckily we offer 3D renderings of the elevations. With these high resolution renderings looking almost lifelike, there will be no confusion on what your home will look like when built.
At this point, you are 100% happy with the design of your home and your builder has giving you a quote of what it will cost to build the plan that meets your budget. We send the CAD drawings off to our engineer, so he can provide us structural pages to provide in the plan. We also work on various additional pages that will be used during the actual build of your home. Once all the pages are complete, we will send them to you and the builder one last time for final approval before sealing the plans. Even though the design is finished up and the project is in the builder’s hands to finish, we are more than willing to assist with anything you feel we can help with. We are here for you through the whole process.
